Porcine, Sydney’s New-School French Bistro is Now Open

Definition of Porcine - relating to or suggesting swine. ‘piggish’.

The collaboration we’ve all been waiting for has arrived - Old Fitz Chef Nik Hill and Ex Don-Peppino’s owner Harry Levy, will be serving you incredible French Bistro food with a twist, upstairs at the new P&V Wine Merchants on Oxford Street (formerly Mickey’s Cafe).

The menu will be more veg focused than traditional French bistro dining - Think a tonne of seasonal veg and seafood. Don’t fret if you’re a carnivore - The main event is the Berkshire pig that will be brought in every two weeks and in true French ‘use it all style’, broken down and transformed into all the charcuterie, terrines, chops and stocks you can imagine.

The wine will be slightly funkier now that there’s the influence of P&V Wine and Liquor Merchants downstairs. You will be able to BYO for a corkage fee of $25 dollars. Pretty handy. The atmosphere isn’t half bad either, backed by a playlist of French pop music amongst a cosy ex-Mickey’s fireplace and balcony. We suggest you get booking fast.

Bon appetit!
